Is it really THAT bad?

Are we really so unhappy with ourselves and/or our lives that we have to yell at other drivers on the road? Are we mad at the other drivers or frustrated with ourselves? Did they do something stupid or dangerous? Or are we just in a bad mood?

The next time you want to yell at someone on the road, stop and think that they might be distracted and rushing to their injured child's side.... or they were just notified that their favorite aunt had passed away... or that they just lost their job.

Or think about what is going on in your life that could be causing the frustration you are dumping on someone else. Are you really mad because you left home too late to be on time for your appointment... or that you didn't get enough sleep last night... or that you broke your favorite coffee cup?

Yelling or getting mad may release the frustration... which is a valid need... but yell at the radio. We have the power (think butterfly effect) to influence another human's day.

It doesn't take much to make a better world. Take a breath, count to 10, empathize, go to your "calm place", and don't do road rage. Mahalo... Namaste... whatever word you want to use.

Calm driving... its the new black!
